For this week’s edition of FinanciElle “$tatements”, I had the opportunity to interview Kathryn Rose, Founder of WiseHer.
WiseHer provides on-demand expert advice for women entrepreneurs and business owners.
Paolina: What has been your hardest experience dealing with your businesses and finance and what did you learn?
Kathryn:
The hardest for me was navigating the financial projections. Trying to figure out those was very challenging. I learned that those are not my strong suit so I actually found a CFO/COO co-founder who is skilled and has taken those responsibilities on. I think the lesson is do what you’re good at and outsource what you’re not, if you can.
Paolina: What advice do you wish you had gotten about money/finance when you were first starting your business?
Kathryn:
It would have been how to structure things better, what are the tax implications, how to set up the right financial systems, etc. Those would have been invaluable.
Paolina: What are your current FinanciElle Faves?
- Favourite productivity tool? We use Trello and Slack to keep in contact with our team and delegate tasks
- Favourite business book? I loved the Lean Startup and found it beneficial, also Measure What Matters, that is another good one
